Moshe Vigdor has been the Director General of the Council of Higher Education of Israel since March 2010 following a five years career as the Director General of the Jewish agency for Israel and following a 12 years career as the Vice-President and Director General of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
As Director General of the Jewish Agency, Moshe was responsible for implementing the policies of the Board and Executive, all operations and administration, the multi-year operating plan, interdepartmental coordination and supervises the senior management staff.
Before assuming the senior professional leadership position at the Hebrew University, Moshe was CEO and Managing Director of Yissum Research Development Company of the University. A world leading company in the area of technology Transfer, Yissum is responsible for protecting the intellectual know-how of the university and for its commercialization in industry including start-sp companies and venture capital funds.
Serving as an executive officer both in industry, in a technology transfer company and in the heart of an academic administration, positions Moshe Vigdor as a worldwide expert in the area of technology transfer and in the area of Management of University – Industry relations.
Moshe has been a special consultant to UNESCO and served as a lecturer for university staffs around the world in the area of Technology Transfer.
Moshe obtained his degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from the Faculty of Technology at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Moshe served on the Boards of numerous companies ,start-ups and various institutions.
Moshe is married to Magi, a special needs kindergarten teacher. Magi and Moshe have three children and three grandchildren. He is a Board member since February 2010.
