(to be held in Hebrew) on Sunday 27/12 at 4pm

Summary of aliyah to Israel during 2009

The year 2009 was a turning point: for the first time in a decade there was a rise in the number of new immigrants to Israel as compared with the previous year.

During the press conference, the numbers of olim who came to Israel in the course of 2009 from the various countries around the world will be presented, as will the various programs for aliyah and absorption of the Jewish Agency and its partners.

Participating in the press conference will be Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky, Minister of Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver, Director-General of the Jewish Agency's Aliyah and Absorption Department Eli Cohen, and Director-General of the Ministry of immigrant Absorption Dimitri Apartsev.

The press conference will take place on Sunday December 27th at 4:00pm in the main building of the Jewish Agency, 48 King George St., Jerusalem
