“When I went to get my Israeli identity card, I was told that I wasn’t Jewish. What a shock. I grew up Jewish and led a Jewish lifestyle. Through the Nativ program, I am on the path to conversion, and learning so much about who I am and what it means to be a Jew.”

Maya Nahor (21) celebrated Jewish holidays with her family, went to synagogue on the Sabbath and attended a Jewish day school until the age of ten. Her Israeli-born father has been the target of virulent anti-Semitic attacks, and was stabbed in their hometown of Madrid, Spain. More
