2010

Jewish women from across the world joined together in Israel for Desert Queen 2010, an jeep journey throughout the Negev desert. The year also brought with it some staggering lows, including Israel's most devastating forest fire, which claiming 44 lives and consumed an estimated 10,000 acres of forest and about four million trees. But the Jewish Federations of North America, through the Jewish Agency, were there to help, by being there on the scene when we were needed the most and giving thousands of children refuge in the aftermath of the tragedy. 2009

2009 was chock full of passages. Natan Sharansky accepted the Chairmanship of the Executive at the Jewish Agency, and the Jewish Agency celebrated 80 years of service. The Jewish world suffered a blow with the passing of Mendel Kaplan, beloved philanthropist and friend of the Jewish Agency and Keren Hayesod, and Zionist leader Max Fisher was also remembered with a cornerstone laid in his memory at the Ayalim Student Village. A global campaign spearheaded by Jewish communities in Europe and North and South America sent Gilad Shalit postcards, via the Red Cross. Two Bar Mitzvah boys from New York gave a year of tennis lessons to young Ethiopian immigrants, On the Wings of Eagles toured Israel, American yogis visited Ofakim, and the largest body of Hazzanim in the world filled Israel with song. More

2008

In 2008, the year Israel celebrated 60, the Jewish Agency continued to actively assist the citizens of Israel, despite the economic turndown. This was only possible thanks to the generous support of our partners, the United Jewish Communities, Jewish Federations across North America and Keren Hayesod. The year ended with the Jewish Agency working around the clock to assist Israel’s southern region which had come under attack. More

2007

In 2007, the Jewish Agency actively strengthened its partnerships in order to better assist the people of Israel.  During the summer, with the generous support of our partners, the United Jewish Communities, Jewish Federations across North America and Keren Hayesod, the Jewish Agency provided an exciting array of free summer camps to over 8,000 children from Sderot and the surrounding area. While up north,  the Jewish Agency and the IDB Group helped bolster communities in the wake of the second Lebanon war. More 

2006

In 2006, the Jewish Agency together with donors through the United Jewish Communities  and Keren Hayesod/ United Israel Appeal raised the resources in order  to bring children to safety during the Second Lebanon War and assist Northen communities in the aftermath.  Donations, volunteers and missions quickly mobilized to assist those in need.  More 

2005

In 2005, we experienced strong partnerships with organizations and communities around the world. From Hadassah's Young Leaders to the emissary program, the Chicago synagogues visit to Beit Canada and the Japanesse delegations visit to the absorption center in Mevasseret Zion.  These are just a few of the 2005 highlights that culminated in our worldwide Chanukah celebrations.  More

In 2004, hundreds of needy children received free dental visits, new immigrants painted homes of elderly residents in Tiberias, more British youth visited Israel then ever before, and More
