Praying for Peace
Thousands of personal prayers from Christians United for Israel are delivered to the Western Wall

March 24, 2010 / 9 Nissan 5770

Thousands of prayers found their way home to Israel.

On March 23, only a week before Passover, thousands of personal notes and petitions written by American supporters of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), a national association through which pro-Israel churches, organizations, ministries and individuals in America can support Israel - were personally delivered to the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

Christians United for Israel was established by Pastor John Hagee, an active supporter of Israel for nearly three decades. He is the founder and Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, and of the John Hagee Ministries. In March, Pastor Hagee and his wife, Diana, visited Israel, and brought with them the notes.

Considered the most sacred place in Israel, the Western Wall is the only remaining section dating back to the Second Temple period. Notes placed in the crevices of the wall are thought to go directly to the heavens.
