The Immigration and Absorption Department is committed towards maintaining Israel as a prominent focus of Jews everywhere, and of stimulating interest in Israel as a viable living option. The return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel is an integral part of what Israel stands for, with the Department playing an active part in every aspect of this dynamic process.  Our present focus on realizing these goals includes: rescuing Jews in distress; advancing aliyah of choice and assisting in the absorption process, mobilizing Israeli volunteers to adopt olim families; and more hands-on intervention for vulnerable olim. Additionally, we offer programs and information on student and young adult options, long and short-term opportunities for both tourists and new immigrants.
