 Location
Ashdod, a beautiful coastal city, with wide boulevards and green parks, is located on the Mediterranean coast, south of Tel Aviv. Due to her geographical location, high level of municipal and educational services and prominence as an absorption city, Ashdod has grown by leaps and bounds in the past decade, to become Israel's fifth largest city.
Centrally located, is the Beit Canada Absorption Center, whose residents of diverse backgrounds live and study together in a supportive atmosphere. The Center is flanked on one side by tree-lined avenues filled with shops, and on the other, by a manicured municipal park that leads to the sea.
Accommodation
The Absorption Center consists of one and two room apartments.
One room apartments are for singles (2 in a room) and families with a child up to the age of 4. Two room apartments are for families with a child over the age of 5.
Each apartment includes basic furniture: refrigerator, gas burners, bathroom and shower, beds, table and chairs. Central heating and hot water (small electric boilers for each apartment) are provided, residents pay for gas, electricity and water according to use*. Immigrants must bring their own kitchen utensils and bedding.
Independent connections to television, cables and internet are available. These services must be paid for by the olim themselves.
*Cost for gas, electricity and water is included in the rental fees for young adults on student programs or those receiving Student Authority assistance. |
