Residents Families from all around the world reside at the absorption center for short periods of time and then move to permanent accommodation in the city.
Hebrew/Ulpan Olim participate in Hebrew ulpan classes (at various levels) including special programs for specific populations.
Children While their parents study Hebrew, the children participate in educational programs and a variety of activities held at the absorption center in the afternoon hours, including receiving help with their studies. There are also special activities to help children make friends and participate in social programs.
Culture and Services The main programs run at the Absorption Center today are for young adults, families, students, volunteers, and olim from Ethiopia, the Former Soviet Union and Argentina. Programs include a gym, swimming pool, Internet access, art classes (clay, drums, Israeli music), Jewish holidays, lectures on various subjects and field trips.
Services Olim receive advice and counseling regarding absorption in Israel, including help in finding an apartment and work, etc. In the nearby area are government offices, health care clinics, a large commercial center, banks, post office, central bus station, and the local market.
