Olim with Ayalim: Live Your Ideals

Olim with Ayalim Mission: To combine the renewed Zionist commitment of Ayalim with the National Mission of Aliyah.

About Ayalim:
The Ayalim initiative provides young, socially committed students, with the opportunity to settle in Israel’s peripheral areas and serve as agents of social change, by offering housing and academic scholarships, in return for community service. The nearly 500 students who already take part in Ayalim live in 11 self- established student villages throughout the Negev and Galilee and volunteer with over 20,000 disadvantaged youth.

Ayalim students initiate and lead social and educational activities, provide educational assistance and serve as role models for children and youth in distressed neighborhoods and with at-risk youth. Likewise, Ayalim addresses the need of creating new services and employment opportunities for the general population, with the goal of attracting more permanent settlement to these areas.

Learn more about Ayalim by watching the video below.

Olim with Ayalim
In the Olim with Ayalim Project, a Garin (core group) of young new immigrants joins one of the Ayalim student villages and becomes part of the social integration and national goals that define them.

Olim with Ayalim provides a structured framework for Aliyah that includes a support system for the early absorption stages at an Absorption Center in Beer Sheva. Once students complete their Ulpan, they move into an Ayalim Student Village, where later they will begin their academic studies. Here they are provided with a built-in community consisting of both olim and Israelis, who are all studying, volunteering and contributing to community life in Israel.

Who is eligible?
Individuals age 20-29 who will earn either BA or MA degrees at Ben Gurion University and live at the new Student Villages in the Negev and who are from English–speaking countries.
