Ulpan Plus for Hebrew Speakers is an intensive academic ulpan which gives new immigrants (including Returning Minors) who speak Hebrew the opportunity to improve their Hebrew reading and writing skills and strengthen their spoken Hebrew.
This new 14-week program, located at the Calanit Absorption Center in Ashkelon, serves college graduates, aged 22-30, from all over the world. Participants live at the Absorption Center with other new immigrant young adults and receive subsidized accommodations. In addition to learning Hebrew they engage in cultural and social activities, travel and hike throughout Israel and celebrate Jewish holidays in a meaningful way. Friendships made at the Ulpan create a foundation for future social networking.
During the course of the program, the young people are accompanied by a counselor and learn about and explore future options for higher education and employment in Israel.
Ashkelon, located on Israel’s coastal plain, is 45 minutes from Tel Aviv and one hour from Jerusalem. Its beautiful Mediterranean beaches attract tourists from all over the world. Ashkelon is home to large populations of new immigrants.
