Preparatory Programs - Mechinot

The Mechina (pl. Mechinot) is a one-year pre-academic study program held at most of the leading universities.  It is designed to strengthen overseas students in various subjects and to introduce them to Israeli instructional and study methods. Additionally, the Mechinot assist in preparing students for the psychometric exams and improving their Hebrew skills.

The Mechina program is intended for students who have a high school diploma from abroad, which is not considered equivalent to the Israeli matriculation Bagrut and who wish to study at an Israeli college or university.  Courses include Hebrew, English, math and introductory academic courses according to the Mechina track.

Note: Some universities require students to first complete a Mechina before they can register for regular studies.
