Nir Wittenberg was born in Haifa, Israel in May 1977. After he graduated the "Leo-Baeck" high school, he joined the IDF as a Navy fighter.
Following his army service he earned a B.A. in Economics and Management from Ben-Gurion University, Be'er Sheva and then continued to study for the M.A. in Public Management at Haifa University.
Since 2001 Nir has been an active member in the Haifa-Boston Partnership, and was the director of TFZ- "Teens for Zedek" Program (known as "Diller" today). He has been a member in the Education and Jewish Identity committee.
During 2003-2004 Nir worked in "Intel" - Kiryat Gat as a budget controller.
Since 2005 Nir has been the Director of the Haifa regional Scouts - "Tzofim" - Israel Scouts Movement. He maintains overall responsibility for all "Tzofim" activities in the Haifa area - educational, organizational, administrative and budgetary - and he was responsible for the organization's staff, administration, management and supervision, tribes development, event management, seminars and summer camp activities.
One of Nir main goals was to broaden the activity and to integrate teenagers from socially weak neighborhoods. He succeeded doing so by integrating hundreds of Ethiopians and FSU immigrants to the Tzofim activity all over Haifa.
