A New Tomorrow

Funding Request

Traumatic experiences affect everyone that they touch – the emotional impact on children and youth is generally most severe. At the Jewish Agency, the next generation is a primary focus of a majority of our work. When war broke out, we immediately mobilized to establish emergency summer camps to get as many children as possible out of the line of deadly fire. The “day after” will be no different as we work to transition children and young people from crisis to not just recovery, but to excellence.

This proposal is a request to join us in ensuring that the children most affected during the war will be able to return to normality. Please join us in promoting northern Israel’s children through A New Tomorrow in the maximum number of communities possible.

Program Budget

All of Northern Israel suffered this summer*, and many are in need of our support to return to normality. A team of professionals from the Jewish Agency in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Education developed a priority list that outlined the communities in which implementation of A New Tomorrow is most crucial. This list took into account the magnitude of disruption to ones normal life, the extent of physical and financial wreckage and resources required for implementation. The 13 communities outlined in the budget below constitute the communities in which the needs are most crucial (listed in order of priority for implementation).

The annual cost per participant is: $1,050

This sum includes: all activities, program coordination, travel, advertisement, materials and equipment. It does not cover the cost of lunches, which will be provided via the Ministry of Education’s hot lunch program, or of the cost of transportation, which will be provided by the local authorities and the Ministry of Education.
