A joint venture of Isha and the Israel Association of Community Centers, this program is designed to cultivate a core group of community lay leaders, as well as equip them with tools to raise awareness and mobilize action to tackle women's issues in a grassroots fashion.
Throughout Israel, women from diverse backgrounds - secular, religious, ultra-Orthodox, Arab, Druze, Circassian - train together to become vocal, proactive women's health advocates.
Following the first instructive stage of the course, each group of leaders develops its own model of community activism to address one issue related to women's health in Israel.
They are then accorded funding to enable them to launch their projects, which range from addressing domestic violence to raising awareness of breast cancer, healthy eating and physical activities.
