Most of the Partnerships are planning joint activity marking Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day for Israel's Fallen Soldiers and Terror Victims) and Israel's 61st Independence Day. Following is a small sample.

Confrontation Line - Great Britain

• This is the third year that parents and pupils fromthe Nof Galil Primary School in Kibbutz Farod, will visit Manchester to take part in the Yom HaZicharon ceremony and Yom HaAtzma'ut activities in the North Cheshire Jewish Primary School. more
• "Magic Moments" - dozens for Confrontation Line youth are off to Great Britain to conduct Yom Haatzmaut and Yom Hazikaron activities in cooperation with the local Jewish community. more

Sovev Kinneret

The Partnership is playing an active role in the Tulsa Community's main Yom Haatzmaut ceremony. The highlight is a chef's delegation from the Sovev Kinneret region which is spending ten days in Tulsa - spreading Israeli culture in schools, synagogues, seniors' residences, etc.

Los Angeles - Tel Aviv

• Delegations from seven Los Angeles schools are being hosted by their peers in seven Tel Aviv schools, and a delegation of parents is being hosted by their peers from Tel Aviv's Magen School. Delegation participants will take part in Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut activities in Tel Aviv.
• Los Angeles is hosting a delegation of pupils from Tel Aviv's Ironi Dalet High School, with the Israelis to conduct Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut activity in Los Angeles. The Tel Aviv Scouts' troup will perform in Los Angeles schools and other community institutions.
• Los Angeles will hold its "Yom Haatzmaut Festival" in the beginning of May, featuring "Cafe Tel Aviv" - including a photo exhibit of Tel Aviv and performances by Tel Aviv's dance troup.

Montreal - Beer Sheva-Bnei Shimon

A youth delegation composed of 20 pupils and 4 teachers from Beer Sheva-Bnei Shimon will be in Montreal for Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut. more

Washington DC-South Africa - Beit Shemesh-Yehuda Plains

A group of talented cyclists, 5 teenagers and 3 adults, will go to Washington in time for Yom HaAtzmaut as part of a Partnership 2000 mission, in conjunction with the Samson Riders Cycling Club.
The mission will take part in three major cycling events of the Jewish community in Washington, visit Jewish schools and community centers, and represent the Partnership and the region at events marking the 61st Independence Day of the State of Israel. more

UJC Central Region Consortium - Western Galilee 

A group of 12th graders from the Dallas Yavne School is due to arrive on the eve of Yom Hazikaron. A reception will subsequently be held in their honor and they will take part in prayer services and dinner hosted by "Garin Ometz" at the Tunisian Synagogue. On Yom Hazikaron the youth will volunteer in Acco, helping distribute food to disadvantaged residents.

Northern New Jersey - Nahariya

• Members of Nahariya youth groups are conducting Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut oriented activities in Northern New Jersey schools, and will take part in the central community activities for Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut.
• A delegation from the Bergen County Solomon Schechter School, composed of 44 8th graders and teachers is being hosted by the Nofar Junior High School in Nahariya. The New Jersey guests will recite prayers for the welfare of the State of Israel and for the welfare of IDF soldiers. They will take part in the central Yom Haatzmaut festivities, with representatives of the delegation to light a torch on behalf of the Partnership. On the Day of Yom Haatzmaut the delegation will attend a Bar Mitzva celebration for several special needs children - an inititavie of the Solomon Schechter School and the Conservative Movement.

Cincinnati - Netanya

A "March of the Living" delegation numbering about 40 Cincinnati youth (ages 16-17) is arriving in Netanya a day before the eve of Yom Hazikaron, with the completion of the Poland leg of the "March of the Living". They wil be hosted by Netanya families, who will accompany them to Yom Hazikaron activities.

UJC Western Region -  Ashkelon Coast-Kiryat Malachi

A contingent of five soldiers from Ashkelon Coast-Kiryat Malachi will represent the Partnership in Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut ceremonies in six communities: Tucson, Phoenix, Seattle, Long Beach, Sacramento and Silicon Valley.

Birmingham-New Orleans - Rosh  Haayin

• The names of fallen soldiers from Rosh Haayin will be read at the New Orleans community activity for Yom Hazikaron.
• Arts and crafts produced by Rosh Haayin youth will be on sale at the New Orleans' "Yom Haatzmaut Festival", with proceeds benefitting youth at risk in Rosh Haayin.
• On Yom Hazikaron, participants of the "Acharai" program in Rosh Haayin will distribute "care packages" prepared by New Orleans children to soldiers taking part in local ceremonies.
  

Rochester - Modiin

• The joint steering committee is convening in Israel, allowing the 16 Rochester members to share times of sadness and joy with their Israeli peers. Steering Committee Co-Chair Beth Bruner of Rochester will address participants of the Modiin Yom Hazikaron event.
• The steering committee, joined by 30 members of the Rochester TBK Synagogue delegation, are being welcomed by Modiin peers for home hospitality on the eve of Yom Haatzmaut, and will take part in Yom Haatzmaut festivities in the city. Capping off the evening is a sing-along hosted by Israeli Co-Chair Hila Hadas.
• Rochester Jewish Federation Director Larry Fein will address participants of Modiin's event recognizing outstanding volunteers, to be held on Yom Haatzmaut.

Philadelphia - Netivot

Israeli rock artist Rami Kleinstein is performing in Philadelphia's Yom Haatzmaut celebration.

South Palm Beach - Kiryat Bialik

"March of the Living" participants from Boca Raton are being hosted by Kiryat Bialik peers on the eve of Yom Hazikaron and are taking part in community events marking the day.

Atlanta-St. Louis - Yokneam-Meggido

There will be a big Yom Ha-atzmaut bash on the tennis court grounds of the St. Louis JCC on Yom Haatzmaut, featuring a Partnership 2000 booth for kids of all ages to color and write messages to our young friends in our sister city communities.  There will also be yummy snacks - including Bomba and Bisli - from Yokneam's Osem factory for everyone to taste.
