Keren Hayesod - UIA's new Campaign Director Craig Woolf recently paid a two-day visit to the Arava with his wife and two children. They were met by Partnership Co-chair Peter Rabin who accompanied them on a tour of the region, beginning with a visit to Partnership Hill, the area adjacent to the entrance to Sapir Park bounded by metal tubing in the shape of the continent of Australia.
Partnership Hill is the physical representation of the Arava-Australia Partnership, and boasts sculptures of kangaroos and koalas, and signs in the shape of Israel and Australia conjoined, each with the name of student and family delegations from Melbourne and Sydney.

The Woolf family visited Tsukim, the Arava's newest settlement, got a bird's eye view of the region from the Jabal Hofera observation point, drove along the Peace Route on the Jordanian border and toured the Research and Development Station to learn about local cutting-edge developments in agriculture and aquaculture.
The family met with Regional Council Head Ezra Ravins, English teacher Denise Teva who will be leading this year's student delegation to Melbourne and Sydney (the 13th consecutive student delegation to Australia!) and several partnership 2000 volunteer activists.
Over dinner at Peter and Reuvat Rabin's home, Craig, Peter and activist Evelyn Biton discussed issues important to the partner communities, most important among them how best to engage and connect to our young people.
The Woolfs enjoyed their stay in the Arava very much, and we hope that this visit will be the first of many.
