Group From SPBC Visited Kiryat Bialik

The group with Bialik Youngsters

A family group from Congregation Bnai Torah in Boca Raton, led by Rabbi Amy Rader, visited Kiryat Bialik, their sister city within the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000, as part of their Israel Adventure. Rabbi Rader had been to KB on Women to Women - one of the Partnership projects, which brought together women from the two communities and resulted in building a new playground in KB. The playground is a fun place for all KB kids and now the visiting children from Boca had a chance to enjoy it as well.

The delegation met with representatives of the local conservative congregation, led by Rabbi Mauricio Balter. They learned about the various activities of the congregation, which maintains ongoing connections with Bnai Torah.

Then they enjoyed an exhilarating song and dance performance by the Bialik Youngsters troupe, known to many in Boca from the troupe's two visits. Following the performance the audience joined in for a typical Israeli sing-along led by Ronen Williams, the musical director.

The visit concluded with dinner served in a pleasant outdoor setting and joined by the young singers, as well as P2K volunteers. Mr. Eshel Fram, JAFI's Partnership Director, conveyed greetings from Mayor Eli Dukorsky and from P2K Steering Committee co-chair Gidi Shilo, who were unable to attend.

Many delegations from SPBC had visited Kiryat Bialik in these past 7 years of partnership. Among them were various exchange groups of youths and adults, several missions, Federation professionals and lay leaders, and families on vacation.

P2K's steering committee and the many KB residents who are involved in the Partnership's programs are always happy to welcome people from their partnered community in their city as well as their own homes.
