It has become a tradition that the MOL delegation from SPBC visits Kiryat Bialik, its sister city within the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000, on Yom HaZikaron (Israel's Remembrance Day for fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism).
This unique, intense day, followed by Yom HaAtzmaut, is a powerful experience for the teens who had just visited the death camps in Poland and can now understand better the meaning of Revival.
This year's delegation included 45 youths and 17 adults, including three survivors. KB Mayor, Mr. Eli Dukorski, and co chair of the P2K committee, Mr. Gidi Shilo, welcomed them to the city before everyone dispersed to hosting families.
They participated at the city's main ceremony in the evening and at ORT High School ceremony the next day, the latter being dedicated to fallen school graduates and joined by some of the bereaved families.
After the ceremony, the Boca kids joined their hosts in class and met school graduates now in IDF uniforms. For some of the kids this was the first time in KB while others were reunited with old friends. Saying goodbye, however, was emotional for everyone, before departing to celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut in Jerusalem.
