During the second half of September, Western Galilee College's President, Prof. Gideon Fishman, visited four communities which are part of Partnership 2000- Western Galilee/ Central Area Partnership Consortium.
The visit spanned Canton, Youngstown, North West Indiana and Dallas, in each of which Prof. Fishman met with the leaders of the Jewish Communities as well as with faculty members and students from universities and Colleges in these regions. Prof. Fishman delivered numerous presentations, including "An Island of Sanity in a Sea of Madness – Jews and Arabs at WGC" to an audience of 275 students and faculty at Westminster College and 150 at Walsh University.
The aim of the visit was to strengthen ties between WGC and the Jewish communities as well as ties with colleges and universities. Summing-up his visit, Prof. Fishman stated "I hope to see the Jewish Communities in the Partnership region adopting projects in the College, which will contribute both the students and the residents of the wider region. I see the growing ties between our campus and many others in the Consortium as a means of strengthening the academia through joint research projects as well as offering summer programs for students who will become acquainted with Western Galilee as well as travel to a wide variety of sites in the country ".
