September 25, 2008 / 25 Elul 5768

Jewish Agency Ben Yakir Youth Village students surprised Major General (reserve) Aharon Farkash, at his office this week and presented him with a beautiful gift as well as their heartwarming wishes for the New Year and thanks for all that he does for them and their fellow students.  Farkash, a graduate of the Ben Yakir Youth Village currently volunteers as the Chairman Of Public Management for the village.

Mr. Farkash gave the students a warm welcome and engaged them in a discussion about their studies and future plans.  He explained to them his current involvement in the realm of security and technology, displaying the various exhibits in his office. He thanked them for their gift and offered them candies and sweets.

Participating in the visit were, Yossi Krauthammer, the director of the village along with Ms. Orit Bash and students, Boris Visoky – who doubled as the photographer of the event, Eli Anteyev, Max Finkel, Uri Mengistu, and Yaako Balata. The visit is part of an initiative by the Department of Resource Development and has received a strong endorsement from Vicky Angel.

The visit ended with Yossi Krauthammer, the director of the Ben Yakir Youth Village, describing to the students Farkash's military accomplishments and the significance of his rank as IDF Major General as well as thanking Farkash for his commitment and involvement with the village.

The students were very impressed by Mr. Farkash’s degree of philanthropy and generosity, a goal that they can aspire to especially within the Ben Yakir Village, which educates their students about the value of giving.
