Ben Yakir Youth Village Director Yossi Krothammer went with two youth village graduates - Eliav Shumaiev and Boris Visoky - to a December 14 Berlin conference organized by Senator Boris Spiegel, against the denial of the Holocaust.
Boris Visoky shared his personal story with conference participants.

Hello, I'm Boris Visoky, 20.
It is right for me to stand here before you and represent the younger generation who arrived from Israel to share with you my personal story.
At the end of 2000 I went with my family Mkirioogrd, Ukraine by the Jewish Agency to Lod. At 13 I went to study in the village of Ben Yakir Youth Agency.
At first it was hard but slowly acclimatization, I had good and stayed there for 6 years. I finished a full matriculation and village youth gave me a warm and loving.
Before the fifth year, has never been interested in the history of our people. I had a grandmother on the father who lived during World War II but was not interested in what had passed her and she also did not tell us herself. I only knew that Grandma was a doctor during the war and moved to the Holocaust.
The turning point in my life there has been this year we began to learn about the Holocaust for the journey to Poland. I saw a film about what happened during the Holocaust and it was really hard to believe that such atrocities had happened to the Jews. That year, I became interested in the history of our people, I learned a lot about the Holocaust, and then I took a journey to Poland with members of the Ben Yakir Youth Village.
When I was in Poland, I saw all the horrors that passed us, I saw the gas chambers and crematoria and I felt chills all over my body. I had a really hard to believe that we were able to do all those things just because we are Jews.
Etched in my memory has a particular trip to Poland: was the fence, one side of the fence were free citizens on the other side were the Jews who abused her and none of them free citizens did nothing to prevent these atrocities. Within each of these horrors, I also remember the birds were free.
When I was in Poland I realized how important it was that the Nazis were defeated and established the State of Israel in 1948. Our own state with sovereignty, our own army and the possibility to defend ourselves to the horrors of the Holocaust never return.
When we returned to Israel, we held a ceremony in the village youth Dear Mr. Boris Spiegel participated in it.
On this occasion, I would like to thank Mr. Spiegel for his contribution to the great Ben Yakir Youth Village: He donated our dental clinic, cinema room, a Torah, and later teaching the Holocaust Museum and more.
Mr. Spiegel also value our competition drawings about the Holocaust and won first place in this competition.

I personally want to thank Mr. Spiegel for providing me the opportunity to discover my Jewish roots and my past. Thanks strengthened my Jewish side of my people of Israel and the connection to Israel.
Mr. Spiegel also appointed me to be a national coordinator of the youth spokesman for the Russian Jewish youth in Israel to study Holocaust and I am very proud to serve in this role later in the process I went through.
Today I am proud to serve as a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces to defend the state for all Jews everywhere in the world.
I want to finish the words I began with: "with who knows his past, his present and future uncertain Del. I represent the younger generation which is the future of Israel. My goal, with your help, is to deepen the knowledge of youth about their Jewish roots them to march us toward a better future for the State of Israel is strong.
